Our job
Edit this first-ever rural electric guide to style for editors across the country who put out publications for their indinidual rural electric cooperative. Written by a committee of seven and going through five rewrites, the manuscript needed someone to fine-tune all this work and also make certain it read as if written by one hand. The guide focuses on the terms specific to the rural electric industry, everything from acid rain to Youth Tour. In her editor's note, Shirley Sirota Rosenberg directs the reader's attention to the difference between use and usage, demand and use, and other terms that are frequently handled incorrectly by local editors in power industries.
