Instead of condescending to the audience—often people with no more than a junior high school education—SSR embedded sophisticated terms and concepts in the text in a way that makes the information respectful of and understandable to the reader. The Red Cross was so pleased with the results that they launched the entire series—film and booklets—at a special screening at the Kennedy Center. ________________
