Our job

Mix, match, edit, write, and combine input from a 16-member task force on more than 35 years of research on alcohol's influence. SSR also integrated comments from 300 reviewers (not as hard as you might think) and oversaw press.

The report's major finding: Alcoholism is a disease and, like so many other diseases, is treatable. The report was a lead story in virtually every major U.S. newspaper the day it was released, and it was subsequently published in book form.
